The Reputation System

In the world of Metacces, a clan’s power is not measured solely by the lands or resources it controls, but also by its reputation and symbolic influence within the ecosystem. The Reputation System is designed to be a true reflection of a clan’s activity, commitment, community impact, and collaborative values.

Dynamic Reputation Based on Behavior

A clan’s reputation is constantly evolving based on its members’ actions—whether completing missions, participating in events, or interacting with other clans. Every behavior (cooperation, loyalty, betrayal, abrupt withdrawals…) is recorded on-chain and evaluated through a dynamic reputation algorithm.

Seasonal Clan Rankings

Clans are periodically ranked on Seasonal Honor Boards based on their reputation points, regional influence, and completed missions. Top-performing clans receive exclusive benefits such as early access to new seasons or rare lands.

Access to High-Level Content

Certain missions, zones, or rewards are only accessible to clans with high reputation scores—making positive behavior and group cooperation a prerequisite for progression and access to advanced resources.

Individual Reputation Within Clans

Beyond the overall clan reputation, each member has an individual interaction log used for:

  • Internal rank promotions

  • Additional DAO permissions

  • Selection for clan representation in alliances and governance roles

Impact on Alliances and Negotiations

When negotiating or forming alliances, a clan’s reputation is reviewed as a key indicator of reliability and seriousness—enhancing or limiting its ability to build stable strategic relationships.

Integration with Rewards & Challenges

High-reputation clans are automatically nominated for major symbolic events and may be invited to contribute to upcoming seasons or offer narrative content that reflects their identity in the Metacces storyline.

Reputation Timelines

Clans can track the evolution of their reputation over time through graphical timelines, showing periods of growth or decline and their causes. These tools help improve leadership strategy and clan performance.

Behavioral Sub-Scores

Instead of a single reputation score, reputation is broken down into specific behavioral indicators:

  • Collaboration Score

  • Consistency Score

  • Leadership Impact

  • Community Building

Peer Reputation

Members of other clans can evaluate a clan’s performance after joint missions or events. This peer-driven system adds a human layer to reputation scoring and reduces total dependence on algorithms.

Penalty Triggers and Temporary Freezes

In cases of clear violations (e.g., breaching alliances, exploiting bugs, repeated sabotage), parts of the clan’s reputation may be temporarily frozen, preventing participation in key events until balance is restored.

On-Chain Endorsements & Complaints

Community members can submit documented endorsements or complaints about a specific clan. These entries are stored on the blockchain, creating a transparent public record of a clan’s conduct and history.

Role-Specific Reputation

Clans focused on exploration, combat, or economy can build *domain-specific reputations. For instance, an economic clan may have a “Trade Reputation” that grants them extra privileges in *Metacces markets.

Reputation's Role in Internal DAO Governance

A clan’s DAO can implement mechanisms that grant higher-reputation members enhanced governance rights, such as weighted voting power or the ability to propose new missions.
